COURSE OUTLINE

This 2 day program is an essential experience for physiotherapists and bodyworkers looking to improve the quality of life of their patients. TRT can be used on both high performance athletes with repetitive movement stress and sedentary patients who tighten up from long hours of poor posture. We have found it to be one of the fastest ways to release the hypertonic tissue that causes movement dysfunction and pain enabling the body to come back into natural balance.

WHO WILL BENEFIT ?

Physios, masseurs, bodyworkers, chiropractors and manual therapists.

This is a great program for any physical therapist looking to boost their knowledge and skills in manual therapy techniques.

WHAT WILL YOU LEARN ?

The biggest take aways from this course will be:

-How to identify the root causes and common postural dysfunctions that upset joint rhythms and affect our natural movement patterns.

-How to manoeuvre your patient into the best position to access the tissue safely and effectively to restore full range of motion at each joint.

-Understanding force and direction of pressure into the tissues to get the most benefit without causing irritation

-A simplified test for each structure to determine whether the tendon is tight, strained, inflamed or weak.

-How to test for and create balance in the agonist/antagonist relationship.

SCHEDULE

We will be using manual deep tissue techniques to release the tendons as well as oscillatory movements to reduce pain and discomfort while opening up range of motion.

DAY 1 : THE UPPER BODY

We will be looking at the most common causes of neck pain, shoulder impingements and how to release the tissues that hold the body in kyphotic postures.

We will be assessing and running through the most effective treatment protocols for all of the typically restricted tendons in these joints with a special emphasis on the following: Techniques for: Biceps tendon, Pectorals, Scalenes, Masseter (TMJ), Subscapularis

DAY 2 : THE LOWER BODY

We will be covering lower back and hip pain as well as common sources of pain at the knee, foot and ankle. We will also be assessing and following the fascial lines and how to read them to find the root cause of the postural anomalies that create dysfunction and pain.

We will be assessing and running through the most effective treatment protocols for all of the typically restricted tendons in these joints with a special emphasis on the following:

Techniques for: Psoas, Rectus femoris, ITB, Pectineus, Peroneals, Plantar fascia
